What’s on this October in Port Lincoln
Spring is here and so are the school holidays! There is plenty to see and do in Port Lincoln during this holiday break. Here is our list of community events that are on this October. October Long Weekend is a great time to head outdoors and go camping in one of the fantastic National Parks located on Eyre Peninsula. Take the family out fishing or just sit on the beach and enjoy the sunshine.

Anyone is welcome to join the Lincoln ites walking group each Thursday morning from 8 30am starting at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club The walk is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels and its FREE

The racecourse itself has stunning coastal views and is located only 5 minutes from the CBD and close to many pristine beaches. PLRC supports many local community groups and chairities and hosts a day at the races to visitors both statewide and interstate. The highlight of the club’s racing season is the Port Lincoln Cup, held in March annually which is a day of great of racing, fashion and fun.
Family Picnic Meet

Everyone loves a picnic! Sunday October 27th is another one of our special Family Days. Come visit the picturesque grounds at Ravendale Racecourse and bring the kids for a relaxing day at the races. Live music. Free things for the kids include: Entry for kids, Face painting, Lolly bags, Ice creams, Bouncy castle, Pony wrap and ride costumes – kids can have some fast fun in the sun for a gallop around. Our family fun days also have a visit from Archie The Pony, our live mascot.

Marc Ryan aka The Beautiful Bogan has continued to impact the Adelaide comedy scene with his relatable style of stand up comedy since he first took to the stage in 2011. For the first time ever The Beautiful Bogan will be teaming up with The Black Dog Institute to fight the proverbial Black Dog and shed a light on this lonely battle.
30 gigs in 30 days is a shout out to the wider community. If you or someone you know is fighting this battle then be a part of this epic feat and let’s laugh as one in the face of the Black Dog!
Cruise Ship Visits
30th October
The first cruise ship is The Golden Princess due to arrive at 6.30am and departing the same day at 6pm.
Port Lincoln is a popular destination for cruise ships. The cruise ship season runs from October to April. Thirteen Cruise Ships are expected to visit Port Lincoln in the coming 2019/2020 summer season. 16 visits are booked in for the 2020/2021 season. With each ship visit there can be up to 3000 passengers and 1000 crew that disembark and visit the city.
