Wesley LifeForce Suicide Prevention Full Day Workshop

Informed by the latest research in suicide prevention, Wesley LifeForce training equips participants with a variety of skills such as managing suicidal crisis, understanding risk and protective factors, as well as how to recognise potential warning signs. Programs are aimed at training individuals from all walks of life, as well as organisational groups.
Port Lincoln Foreshore Twilight Markets
November 2nd 4.30 pm till 9 pm
The Port Lincoln Foreshore Markets have been planned for the first Friday of the month during the warmer months on the foreshore lawns near the town square.
Come down to the foreshore and browse through the Port Lincoln Foreshore Markets, catering for everyone, with a variety of food stall holders offering hot and cold food and beverages, jams and preserves, home baked goods, fruit and vegetables, seafood and smallgoods. Entertainment for the whole family from bubble soccer, paddle boards, musicians, performers and exhibitions. Enjoy the casual and relaxed atmosphere and support your local producers, artists, micro-businesses, performers and community groups during the summer months.

Remembrance Day
Sunday 11 November 2018
This year 11th November marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. In 1997, Governor-General Sir William Deane issued a proclamation formally declaring 11 November to be Remembrance Day, urging all Australians to observe one minute’s silence at 11 am on 11 November each year to remember those who died or suffered for Australia’s cause in all wars and armed conflicts.
The Remembrance Day National Ceremony will be held at the Port Lincoln War Memorial, Corner Lincoln & Flinders Highway.

Twilight Business Meet – Friday 16th November 2018.
Port Lincoln Racing club will hold the first twilight meet for the season. How fantastic to be able to kick back after work on the lawns with a bevy or two and watch the horses thunder down the home straight!
Friday twilight race meetings will feature a “Happy Hour” from 5:00 pm and a free shuttle bus service back into town following the last race. – Live music from late afternoon – FREE entry after 5:00pm – competition on the day to win free memberships.

The NOORDAM is the first Cruise Ship to visit Port Lincoln this 2018/2019 season.
Come down check out the Cruise Ship Noordam while it docks in Port Lincoln on 30th November. It will be a busy time this summer with an increasing number of Cruise ships bringing many visitors to this picturesque city and boosting tourism and small businesses in Port Lincoln
With each ship visit there can be up to 3000 passengers and 1000 crew that disembark and visit the city. In previous years Port Lincoln has received accolades as being voted as best port by passengers according to South Australian Tourism Commission market research.
