Summer has definitely arrived and January is a busy time in Port Lincoln with the popular Tunarama Festival which runs over the long weekend. Port Lincoln welcomes many visitors who come and join in with the locals to celebrate of the beginning of the Tuna Season. There’s plenty to see and do this January in Port Lincoln and great beaches and fishing to enjoy.
Heart Foundation Walking Group – Lincoln’ites

Why not walk off some of the excesses of Christmas feasting and join a walking group. Anyone is welcome to join the Lincoln’ites walking group each Thursday morning from 8.30am starting at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club. The walk is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels and its FREE.
Port Lincoln Foreshore Markets

Held on the Port Lincoln foreshore lawns on Friday nights on a regular basis during the summer months, the Markets consist of local producers, artists, micro -businesses, performers and Community groups. Stalls will be open to both locals and visitors to Port Lincoln to showcase their wares and talents. Added entertainment ranging from bubble soccer, paddle boards, musicians, performers and exhibitions will also be on show. With a casual and relaxed atmosphere the Foreshore Markets provide an excellent outing for families to come and enjoy the picturesque Port Lincoln Foreshore.
Cruise Ship GOLDEN PRINCESS

Port Lincoln has become a popular destination for cruise ships. The cruise ship season runs from October to April. With each ship visit there can be up to 3000 passengers and 1000 crew that disembark and visit the city. The first cruise ship to arrive 2019 will be The Golden Princess arriving at 6.30 am and departing 6.00 pm.
Summer Holiday Fun Port Lincoln Leisure Centre

A holiday program to keep the young ones entertained during their time off. A mixture of activities such as disco dancing, craft and much more! Sessions run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting the 8th until the 24th of January.

Princesses & Super Hero Family Day

Calling all princesses and super heroes! Put on your cape and your fanciest tiara. Get on down to the racecourse and have a fun filled day of action for you and the family. FREE entry for kids and their parents – FREE activities run throughout the day for kids. We encourage kids and adults alike to come dressed as their favorite princess or superhero! Michael from WILD ON EYRE will be on course with all his hands on Australian small animal displays for the kids, he will be asking for a gold coin donation for Ronald McDonald House. This is not a family day you want to miss out on!

The Kazoos – Dress Up Box 2:00 pm – 2:50 pm
The Kazoos are coming to visit the kids of the Eyre Peninsula with a new musical comedy, Dress Up Box, that will educate and entertain the sox off ‘em! Set around a giant dress up box, children will discover a world of fun with The Kazoos exploring character, gender-identity and role play in a hilarious game of dress ups. Children benefit cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally through dress-up play, so The Kazoos have developed this new show, Dress Up Box, to inspire children to learn through play.

Tunarama 2019 Port Lincoln

The Tunarama Festival is held annually in Port Lincoln, South Australia over the Australia Day long weekend every January. Now celebrating its 58th year! Featuring a wide array of participation events, arts and cultural displays, local market stalls, plus some of the freshest seafood in the world. There is truly something for everybody to be involved!

Pirate Ships Ahoy! Look out is that a mermaid?
A fantasy Journey from under the sea, featuring swashbuckling pirates, a real-life mermaid, and all your favourite underwater world characters. A fun interactive SeaWorld with a pirate ship, pirate games, treasure hunt, storytelling, comedy and dance.
Bendigo Bank Street Procession
The 2019 Port Lincoln Community Bank Street Procession will be held on Saturday 26th January at 12 noon.
Bendigo Bank Tuna Toss World Championships
The highlight of the Festival is the famous Tuna Toss competition. ‘Have a go’ at tossing a tuna for your chance to win the Tuna Toss World Championship.
Bunnings Boat Building Competition
Teams of two people will spend 2 hours crafting a boat to enter into a race just 4 short hours later. Some serious prizes available along with some serious fun.
Spencer Gulf King Prawn Peeling Competition and Prawn Toss Competition for the Kids
Optus Salmon Toss
Kids 11- 15 years to come and have a go at being the Salmon Toss Champion. The Salmon Toss is set to be a competitive event, these kids may come back to be our future Tuna Toss world champions!
Peter Teakle Sail Past ‘Best Dressed Day Boat’ & ‘Best Lit Night Boat’
All commercial and pleasure craft are invited to take part in the sail past with two $500 prizes.

Slippery Pole Competition

Tunarama Ambassador Quest ‘Cabaret Party’

Experience this Cabaret Gala Event and celebrate the crowning of the 2019 Tunarama Ambassador. The whole community will be a part of Tunarama’s biggest celebration and witness the crowning of the ‘2019 Tunarama Ambassador’ with the Ambassador Quest Awards presented live on the main stage in Eyre Square!
